7th International NEUE STIMMEN Master Class 2008
Under the artistic direction of Gustav Kuhn, the Bertelsmann Stiftung held its 7th international master class from October 11 to 18, 2008. This master class was designed to provide ongoing encouragement and support for unusually talented young singers who have made a particularly favorable impression while participating in the NEUE STIMMEN singing competition.
The process of selecting the NEUE STIMMEN 2008 master class has been concluded, and thirteen young singers who competed in the competition have been invited to participate.
The following singers have been chosen:

2. Jonathan Beyer, United States, baritone
3. Igor Eremin, Russia, baritone
4. Krenare Gashi, Kosovo-Albania, soprano
5. Claudia Huckle, Great Britain, mezzo-soprano
6. Emi Morofuji, Japan, soprano
7. Ieva Prudnikovaite, Lithuania, mezzo-soprano
8. Youn-Seong Shim, Korea, tenor
9. Pavel Shmulevich, Russia, bass
10. Yuki Sunami , Japan, soprano
11. Diego Torre, Mexico, tenor
12. Fabiola Venegas,Mexico,soprano
13. Jacek Janiszewski, Poland, bass
The singers worked with Gustav Kuhn, Ute Trekel- Burckhardt, Francisco Araiza and Franz Grundheber on the vocal, musical and visual aspects of performing arias from operas and operettas as well as on the performance of lieder. The master class concluded on October 18 with a concert for selected guests in the foyer of the Bertelsmann Stiftung.
