Biography

A native of Busan, So Young studied voice at the University of Seoul, graduating in 2009 as one of the top students in her class. She is currently pursuing an advanced degree at the same university. In the course of her training, So Young has sung the roles of Violetta Valery in La Traviata, Cho-Cho-San in Madame Butterfly, Elvira in I Puritani and Gilda in Rigoletto. She entered four national singing competitions between 2007 and 2009, winning every one. So Young plans to complete her training in Italy, Germany and the United States. She is particularly fond of the bel canto repertoire and would like to pursue further training in this area.
