Advisory Bodies
Ever since "Neue Stimmen” was first founded in 1987, we have consistently tried to keep pace with the ever changing and ever more exacting demands of talent promotion. To be able to do this, we have taken to scrutinizing and re-assessing both the content and the artistic and organizational structures of the contest on a regular basis.
The Advisory Board and Steering Committee which is responsible for content, help us create the best possible competitive conditions and develop new ideas aimed at ensuring a constant "breath of fresh air.”
The Steering Group
Content and organizational planning
The NEUE STIMMEN steering group meets twice a year and decides on issues of content and organizational competition planning. Its members contribute their competence and the necessary expertise in order to improve existing structures and implement new ideas.
The International Singing Contest has always sought the advice of experts so as to be able to offer young talents the best possible support. Carrying on this tradition, and also in view of the 10th anniversary of the NEUE STIMMEN International Singing Competition, the steering group was set up under the chairmanship of Liz Mohn in October 2001.
Its members are experienced NEUE STIMMEN jurors. This guarantees optimal links between the bodies that plan and carry out the competition.
The Advisory Board
Impulses from practice
New ideas and important impulses are what the Advisory Board contributes to support the NEUE STIMMEN International Singing Competition. Especially in an age of increasing globalization, the organizers consider it vital to remain open for input from outside and to look beyond the proverbial tip of one's own nose. Singers, directors, journalists and others involved in the cultural field who have for years dealt with the subjects of opera, young talent promotion and music education, constructively apply their practical experience in the organization of "Neue Stimmen" and help the International Singing Contest remain up-to-date. That is how the competition keeps its finger on the pulse, and ensures a varied and vibrant cultural exchange.
