Xiaolin Zhou
China, Soprano, *1982

Born in 1982 in Dalian, China, Xiaolin Zhou had private singing and piano lessons from an early age. In 2001, she began her voice studies at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing where she studied with Yang Xiaoping. On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Japan in 2002, she followed the invitation of Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi and participated in performances of "Madame Butterfly" in both countries. In November 2005, she could be seen as Oscar in "Un Ballo in Maschera" at the Polly Theater in Beijing.

In the Final Concert of "Neue Stimmen" on 22 October 2005 Xiaolin Zhou sang the arias "Piangerò la sorte mia" from Giulio Cesare by Georg Friedrich Händel (audio-file) and "Depuis le jour" from Louise by Gustave Charpentier.
