Andrzej Dobber studied singing under Prof. Helena Lazarska at the Academy of Music in Krakow and continued his training at the Nuremberg Conservatory. He came second in both the 1983 International Dvorák Competition in Karlsbad and in the 1986 Ada Sari Competition for the Vocal Arts in Poland.

What is known about him today:
Andrzej Dobber won first prize in the 1990 ARD International Music Competition in Munich. After several years at the Städtische Bühnen in Nuremberg, he spent three years at the Frankfurt Opera House and since then has had an international career with engagements throughout Europe and Japan. He makes regular guest appearances at the Comic Opera in Berlin and at the National Opera in Warsaw and has also performed at Dresden's Semper Opera, the Volksoper in Vienna and the Bavarian State Opera in Munich.
