Ingrid Kertesi trained at the Franz Liszt Music Academy in Budapest. After graduating in 1985, she was offered an engagement with the Hungarian State Opera. She made a guest appearance at the Volksoper in Vienna in 1987 and another at the Opera House in Graz in 1988.
What is known about her today:
After spending the years 1988 to 1990 at the Comic Opera in Berlin, Ingrid Kertesi went on to win great acclaim for her performances in "Rosenkavalier" and "The Gypsy Baron" in Budapest. Her guest engagements have taken her all over Europe, including to Vienna, Amsterdam and Graz. She was awarded the 1992 Juventus Prize by the Hungarian State Opera in Budapest and also sang in its production of "L'elisir d'amore" in the year 2000. After an engagement with the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, she has now been cast as Gilda in a production of "Rigoletto" at the Opera House in Bonn.
