Heike Theresa Terjung received her vocal training at the State Academy of Music in Düsseldorf. After graduating in 1986, she continued her studies under Professors Lieselotte Egger, Paul Schilhawsky and Rudolf Knoll at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. Her first guest appearances have taken her to Karlsruhe, Nancy and Luxembourg and she is to take up a permanent engagement in Aachen later this year.

Shortly after her success in "Neue Stimmen" 1988, Heike Theresa Terjung was featured in a program called "Young Talent" broadcast by Germany's ZDF public television network. After her period in Aachen, which included a part in Verdi's "La Traviata", the 1991/1992 season saw her switching to the National Theater in Mannheim, where she remained until 2002, singing in such works as "Carmen" and "The Ring". As a soloist, she has also collaborated with a number of orchestras of renown.
