Izabela Labuda studied singing under Prof. Urszula Mitrega and Eugeniusz Sasiadek at Kattowitz Academy of Music. She has had a permanent engagement at the State Opera in Wroclaw since 1985. After winning the 1987 Young Talent Contest in Lodz, she was among the finalists at the 1988 Luciano Pavarotti Competition in Modena.

What is known about her career to date:
After winning first prize in "Neue Stimmen", 1989 saw Izabela Labuda launching her career with a permanent engagement at the Opera House in Essen and guest performances at the Volksoper and Staatsoper in Vienna and at the National Theater in Mannheim. She became a member of the ensemble of the Vienna State Opera in 1992. Having performed in New York, Metz, Berlin, Frankfurt and Cologne, she now enjoys an excellent reputation in both the USA and Europe and can be heard in forthcoming productions of "Faust", "Tales of Hoffmann" and "La Traviata".
