Marina Ivanova
Russia, coloratura soprano, born 1964

The biography she submitted to "Neue Stimmen" 1993 went as follows:
Marina Ivanova had already begun her training as a pianist at the Moscow State Conservatory when she decided to switch to singing instead under Professor V. Kudryavtseva-Lemesheva. She was a semi-finalist in the 1991 National Glinka Competition in Alma Ata and her solo career to date has already taken her to Italy, where she appeared with the Arturo Toscanini Symphony Orchestra.

What is said about her today:
After winning first prize in "Neue Stimmen" 1993, Marina Ivanova spent the next four years of her career at the Aalto Theater in Essen. During this period, she also made guest appearances at the Glyndebourne Festival, the Heidenheim Opera Festival and Rossini Festival on the island of Rügen. After three years at the Landestheater Flensburg, 2000 saw her moving to the National Theater in Mannheim, where in the 2002/2003 season she can be heard in "La finta giardiniera", "La Bohème", "Nabucco" and "Hänsel und Gretel" - among others.
