Soon-Won Kang

After studying under maestro Park Su-Kil at the University of Seoul, Soon-Won Kang went on to take lessons with Pier Miranda Ferraro and is currently enrolled at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory. 1994 marked his debut in a performance of Mozart's "Marriage of Figaro" at the Korean State Opera.
What is known about his career to date:
From 1997 to 2001, Soon-Won Kang was a soloist at the Leipzig Opera House and in 2000 completed his training at the Leipzig Academy of Music by passing the performer's examination with distinction. His numerous engagements have taken him all over the world, including to Madrid, Las Palmas and Tokyo. He has also given concerts in New York, Turin, Milan and Seoul. Soon-Won Kang has been a member of the Frankfurt Opera ensemble since 2001 and in the 2002/2003 season will be performing in its productions of "The Magic Flute", "Tosca", "La Traviata" and "La Bohème". He also features on two CD recordings, one of "Otello" (2000) and one of "Ivanhoé" (2001).
