Tigran Martirossian
Armenia, bass, born 1970

What was written about him as a contestant in "Neue Stimmen" 1997:
Tigran Martirossian studied music at the Gnesin Academy. He has been a finalist in many of the competitions held in recent years, including those in Sofia and Oslo, and has been a member of Moscow's Bolshoi Theater ensemble since 1995.

What is known about his career to date:
Besides singing several major roles at the Bolshoi, Tigran Martirossian has also made guest appearances all over the world, including at the Bavarian State Opera, Frankfurt Opera, the Opéra de Toulouse, L'Opéra National de Paris, the Teatro Real Madrid, the Washington Opera, San Francisco Opera and opera houses in both Japan and China. Tigran Martirossian has sung at the Salzburg and Wexford Festivals and spent much of 2002 in Florence. The 2002/03 season will see him at the Metropolitan Opera in New York.
